To promote their partnership with Reed Timmer, star of Discovery channel’s ‘Storm Chasers,’ Bosch Auto Parts created video content around their new ICON wiper blade line featuring Reed and the Dominator (Reed’s vehicle). M80 was challenged with making this content exciting, social, and impactful.
Insight
Many of Reed’s fans are actual amateur storm chasers and he was their hero.
Solution
- We created a contest that would result in an opportunity to go storm chasing with Reed Timmer.
- We implement a video seeding campaign aimed at generating a high volume of views (90,000 guaranteed), in order to get enough awareness out there of the opportunity.
Results
In the first 24 hours on YouTube, the video
- Accrued 345,364 total views (an earned lift of 383%)
- Was the 14th most popular video on all of YouTube and featured on YouTube’s homepage
- Bosch was awarded an Effie for the overall campaign
