Title: Associate, Paid Social

How long have you worked at Catalyst: I have worked at Catalyst for a little over a year.

How long have you worked in the Digital/Search/Social/SEO landscape and what type of clients have you worked with?

In total 3 years. 1.5 years on the organic and content side, and 1.5 years on the paid side. Last year, I had working on a global brand doing Paid Social activations not only in the US, but also in Germany, Mexico, and other global markets. It’s been fun!

How did you get your start in digital/SEO/paid search/paid social?

I started my as a copywriter at a creative agency in Istanbul, then moved on to social media management shortly after. After managing creative strategies and social media content for my clients, I wanted to start getting involved with more holistic and data driven aspects of social media. That’s how I decided to start working in paid social. So, I packed-up my suitcase and came to NY!

What do you like most about working at Catalyst? 

What I like most about working at Catalyst is the opportunity it provides everyone to learn about other aspects of media such as search and data science. In-person office events are also a nice plus 😊

What has been your greatest achievement or success in Digital/Paid Search/Paid Social/SEO at Catalyst?

My greatest success so far has been launching a global activation that involved a major strategy shift and utilizing global resources. We recently launched a full-funnel campaign for a global brand that has been working with Catalyst for a year. Their focus was solely on conversions and lead generation until recently, which resulted in limited new customers. We decided to shift our strategy to focus more on brand awareness and leverage our re-marketing pool for efficiency. We built and QA’d the global campaigns for which I had the opportunity to work closely with our amazing offshore team 😊 The launch was a cathartic moment for everyone who worked on the planning and builds. So far, the results have been great!

If you had to give one recommendation to an advertiser who wants to use paid search or social marketing to achieve business results, what would it be?

Having an idea of consumer behavior is essential. When a customer’s thought process, behavior and habits are taken into account in the initial planning process, the campaign will have significantly more impact and ad money will work harder!
