Position: Business Development Coordinator

Position Description

The Business Development Coordinator will be a key stakeholder on the Sales and Marketing team, reporting to the Head of Sales and Marketing, fully integrating with all team members. The Catalyst Sales and Marketing team is a small, face paced integrated team that is tasked with developing and promoting the best Search and Social opportunities to prospective Fortune 1000 brands. The team participates in thought leadership, events, publications, partnerships, and training across all capabilities and industry verticals. In this role, the Business Development Coordinator will have the opportunity to become immersed in the digital marketing strategies for some of the largest brands in the world.

The Business Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting all new business development activities for Catalyst. The goal of this role is to help increase new Fortune 1000 client acquisition by developing and nurturing the lead generation pipeline and supporting all aspects of the sales process. S/he will participate in lead generation activities including events, follow up, and outreach to new business leads. S/he will be a critical team member, with additional key responsibilities including: acting as the project manager on large, complex sales pitches, coordinating with Search and Social specialists, assisting in preparation of sales presentations, RFPs, RFIs, SOWs, etc., and maintaining knowledge of search and social trends to demonstrate both Catalyst and individual industry expertise.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in new business activities, supporting pitch team to help facilitate the timetables, conduct prospective client research, develop presentation materials and coordinate outside resources
  • Execute RFIs and support RFP completion
  • Maintain documentation of all proposal efforts, assist in the organization, archiving, and inventorying of new business pitches
  • Understand and leverage Catalyst offerings, solutions, tools and capabilities
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of digital marketing industry trends and new platforms (social, video, search, etc.)
  • Represent Catalyst at lead generation events (includes travel)
  • Maintain new business pipeline through outreach, relationship development, and educational programs
  • Identify potential new business opportunities
  • Qualify in-bound new business leads
  • Build and manage CRM database (Salesforce)
  • Support marketing efforts, including event planning
  • Participate in marketing and sales planning

  • Strong interpersonal skills that have resulted in business relationships of trust, confidence, and results
  • Possess analytical and problem solving skills together with business process knowledge sufficient to assess client requirements, work with the delivery leaders in identifying appropriate solutions, and lead the development of compelling and successful proposals
  • Energetic, upbeat, team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledgeable in digital marketing, ability to learn, understand and present detailed product features & benefits
  • Experience in any of the following areas: Paid Search (SEM), SEO/Organic Search, Paid Social, Programmatic, Display, Analytics, Web Site Development
  • Minimum of 4 years of marketing and/or business development experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field or equivalent experience
