Nicole Kapopoulos, CatalystMeet Nicole

Name: Nicole Kapopoulos

Title: Paid Search Director

How long have you worked at Catalyst?

I have been working at Catalyst for just over six years.

How long have you worked in search and what type of clients have you worked on?

I have worked in digital advertising for over 10 years across clients in all industries – CPG, retail, finance, insurance and pharma. Most of my experience is in paid search, but I have also worked on Amazon, social and programmatic accounts.

How did you get your start in search?

I started as a paid search specialist at a search agency right out of college.

What do you like most about working at Catalyst?

My favorite thing about Catalyst is the people – everyone here is so talented and hard-working. It’s also great to be able to work on accounts across multiple verticals and constantly test new platforms.

What has been your greatest achievement or success in search?

Running a test to see if there was a noticible lift on Amazon search campaigns while running Amazon programmatic campaigns at the same time. ROAS from Amazon search increased by over 60% while the Amazon programmatic campaigns were running.

In your opinion, what is the most important search trend or change for 2020?

It’s hard to say with the constantly changing landscape, but probably the shift in media spend from Google / Bing search to Amazon search and the focus on audience targeting to more closely align campaigns and messaging to the most relevant audiences.

If you had to give one recommendation to an advertiser who wants to use search or social marketing to achieve business results, what would it be?

My recommendation would be to constantly test new things in your search and social campaigns –different audiences, creatives, keywords, platforms. You never know what will work until you try it.

Share a fun fact about yourself

I have a cat named Bella that we adopted from a shelter after someone found her in their car engine with her whiskers singed off (they grew back!).

Why Nicole Makes Us Proud

“Although Nicole and I have both been at Catalyst for over 5 years together, I have only recently had the pleasure of working on the same account team with her. Her knowledge and dedication to the work is impressive and motivating to all who work with her. Nicole is truly an unsung hero at Catalyst.” – Patty Montano, Group Director, Search & Social, Catalyst
