The solution was to activate a three-phase paid social campaign within the WeChat ecosystem, utilizing a diverse range of ad formats, constant testing and optimization, advanced targeting, and locally developed creative.
Each phase of the campaign had specific objectives and targets based on previous WeChat campaigns and industry benchmarks.
Phase 1
Drive awareness and acquire new followers
Catalyst leveraged the Image Card ad unit, allowing users to follow the client’s WeChat account from the point of exposure. We also utilized keyword and geographical insights from Baidu search campaigns to inform our precision targeting strategy.
Phase 2
Deepen engagement and remarket to newly acquired followers and top performing audience segments
We implemented WeChat’s Video Moment ads to connect with users on an emotional level. Using compelling video creative, we illustrated how the brand’s solutions can help the target audience solve their challenges and address their needs.
Phase 3
Drive additional followers and deepen audience penetration
Catalyst leveraged the Follower Recruit Banner Ad, testing multiple creatives and strategically activating them when awareness was likely the highest based off insights collected from the first two phases.
